A great science fiction film,i remember seeing the special edition of this film back in 1997 at the cinema,they added quite a frw additional scenes and improved special effects.The benchmark of Hollywood blockbusters today.Hollywood blockbuster s today aren't really as good as this film.
If the audio/video quality bothers you there's nothing stopping you from getting the Blu-Ray versions as well and having this as a secondary version.
The video/audio quality is a little poor and the aspect ratio is quite small, making for a very slightly stretched look. as described disc one has the special edition with newer effects and slight alterations and disc two is the original 1970s film completely unaltered
The great story and characters are still there, the plot is still intact.
I could never really downgrade the story here but I can nick off a point for this "deluxe" version.
